By flow connection I mean the idea that each bit (short joke) is related or connected to the previous so it flows into an entire story. Here and Now is a surprisingly coherent piece given the extremely wide array of topics Ellen discusses. The material flows smoothly, and it doesn’t feel awkward when she transitions from one area to another. With so many shifts, some of them should become jarring, but that doesn’t happen. They are well connected and therefore allow listeners to easily follow her thought path and story.
She starts with the topic of procrastination and goes through other concepts like musical juxtapositions, the state of modern TV, commercials, wireless technology, forgetting what you’re talking about, technology and laziness, overindulgence, movie theater behavior, getting pickles out of a jar, excessively thick packaging, automatic toilets, and general conflicts during social interactions. All these are seemlessly connected.
This leads us to the Circle Connection.
