The following images can be found on the top left hand corner of the page when one visits the Singapore Airlines website, and the image changes depending on the country site, in no predictable pattern. Each image was found in the named country site on the date of retrieval, May 21, 2005, but the image varies over time.

In the paired Figures (1) and (2), (3) and (4), and (6) and (7), the Singapore Girl featured is the same person but the background is of a different international setting. The fact that all the Singapore Girls featured in these images ARE "The Singapore Girl" but they are ubiquitous, show not only that they are ambassadors of the airline and country, but also that they are ephemeral because the location in which they exist changes constantly. The same girl in the paired images appears but her background is different; in one she stands before beautiful autumn leaves, possibly of Japan (1), in the next, she appears before the desert (2). Her mysterious ubiquity but also transience add to her mythical status.
