Through the previous pages, I have explored how the Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now DVD is a tool of connection. Through laughter, the DVD connects millions of people all around the world.
I claim that the Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now DVD is a tool connection. It connects people from all over the world and even from different times. It connects people together. It connects the audience to Ellen, it connects the audience to each other, it connects viewers at home to the audience, it connects now to then (time connection) and through all these connections it achieves its ultimate goal: to make us laugh.
The issue of laughter has led me to examine the concept of laughter, comedy and stand-up comedy. All of these have been drawn together to form connections between themselves and my artifact: the Ellen Degeneres: Here and Now DVD.
