Ten Things 2006: Projects

Hey,

My name is Ben Canning. I am a junior majoring in STS. The topics I am currently considering are a futon, a pillow, a toothbrush, a mini-refrigerator, and computer speakers. I'm leaning towards these last , since they seem so "vital" to many college students.

I've mulled over things a little bit more and have switched to using Stanford as my artifact. Although it would be fun to do the other items, my own personal interest lead me towards education. I'm not quite sure whether I will be focusing on the physical component of Stanford, i.e. the layout, landscape, etc, or the idea of Stanford as an institution. Although, I will probably delve into both worlds and see if I can't tie them together and eventually use them as a spring board to comment on academic instituions as a whole.
