Notes from our second group meet
Re-structuring to suit the idea of "Sites of the Imagination"
- several imaginary versions of one place -- simulated by dispersing ourselves throughout the room during the presentation
- morphing photographs on large screen
- addition of sensory cues -- scents like incense, sounds like cattle, Greek music
- interactivity -- audience's choice of the order in which the sites are presented according to their own associations
- narrative becomes the story of the audience's experience of the presentation
possible mechanisms for ceding control to the audience:
-video game vis-a-vis Indiana Jones
-basic narrative scenario: maybe archaeologists or tourists or Cretans
Structure of Paper Report:
10 page individually produced "imaginations" or "narratives" arranged according to the order chosen by the audience, bookended by the idea of our investigation as an investigation actually undertaken by the audience during our presentation, for a total of approximately 80 pages.
ALSO WE NEED TO TALK TO MICHAEL ABOUT THE DATE OF THE FINAL PRESENTATION
