Welcome to the Forum for my Scotland Projects
I'm currently working on a literature review concerning Sir Walter Scott's writings on the land, especially the English-Scottish border. I will exlpore themes including notions of authenticity, Scott's relationship to the land, chorography, and illustrations of Scott's work. Terry Reed: Terrific idea for research. Here's a question: What are the effects of space and place on culture? Maybe it's me, but the celtic heartland looks as lone and melancholy as its poetry and history. What do you think?

MeganRowe: A great question! My new project, a senior honors thesis, will examine the connections between space, place, literature, history, and culture. I will be focusing on the area around the English-Scottish border, and will start with works by Sir Walter Scott. Updates on this project will be coming soon. In the meantime, check out my advisor's work (and much more developed analysis) on the subject of
chorography.
